  Three Correctional Institutions for Young Offenders are being temporarily closed down because of a decrease in the influx of young offenders.

  Home detention may be ordered if the court believes that a suspect’s freedom of movement must be restricted without the suspect having to be detained in a Remand Centre.

  On the recommendation of Mr. Hirsch Ballin the Council of Ministers has consented to sending the Dutch Lower House the Cabinet’s response to the report entitled ‘Properly Dealing with Claims for Damages’, drawn up by the National Ombudsman.
